Meet the sisters
Stories children can see themselves in.
Kimika is an artist. Kalynn is a curious young scientist. Together, these African American sisters explore the joys and challenges of growing up.
Their experiences open conversations about moving to a new home, belonging, friendship, kindness, online safety, grief, health, and family traditions. Students can consider a character’s feelings and choices before connecting the story to their own lives.
Use the books for teacher-led read-alouds, shared reading, book clubs, counseling groups, or family conversations. Educators can adjust reading support and discussion depth to fit their students.

The Bright Future Game
Give students a chance to think, talk, and choose through everyday social-emotional scenarios.
The board game extends the themes of the Sisters books through discussion cards, choices, and reflection. Students explain their reasoning, listen to others, and consider how a decision can affect friends, family, and community.
Use it for teacher-led classroom activities, counselor groups, or family play. The physical game supports 2–6 players and is recommended for grades 5 and up.

What ages and settings does the program serve?
The books can support K–5 read-alouds and guided conversations, with independent reading for grades 2–5 as appropriate. Teachers should match texts and support to their learners. The physical Bright Future Game is recommended for grades 5 and up.
Can I review the materials without signing up?
Yes. The sample packets on this page are available directly. Choose a book preview or download the combined sample packet.
Can I buy a single chapter book?
The current catalog sells the complete 25-book set and selected thematic packages. Individual chapter books are current being sold on Amazon.com. Workbooks, teacher guides, the toolkit and the board game are only available directly from LGM as standalone products.
